Requirements:


To be seriously considered for this role, you’ll need to have:



  • Education:

    Graduate of an accredited school for Respiratory Care required.


    Successful completion of a sleep technology program. Credential to be completed within one year of employment.



  • Experience:

    At least five years’ experience in the acute Respiratory Care medicine to include: General Floor Care, Emergent Medical and Trauma Stabilization/Treatment, Newborn/NICU Stabilization; Cardiopulmonary Diagnostics and Pulmonary and Cardiac Rehabilitation preferred.


    1 year experience in the performance of sleep diagnostic and therapy studies preferred. 



  • Licenses/Certification: Current BLS, ACLS and NRP certifications. Certified or Registered by the National Board for Respiratory Care. Licensed to practice respiratory care in the State of Colorado. 


Responsibilities:


We are committed to improving the health of our community by delivering exceptional care and services.  As part of the team in the Cardiopulmonary Department, you will:



  • Assist with all aspects of respiratory care and sleep center operations

  • Provide patient education utilizing respiratory care and sleep center specific protocols

  • Assess patients' respiratory status and develop individualized care plans

  • Educate patients and families on respiratory conditions, treatment options, and proper use of respiratory equipment

  • Work closely with physicians, nurses and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care 


Work Schedule:


Shift:  Sleep Studies are scheduled 2-3 days/ week 1900-0700.  Respiratory Services available in-house 7 days a week (0600 – 1800 and 1000-2230). Rotating call when RT not in house. Weekend day scheduling done on a rotational basis according to staffing resources.


Sleep Education Requirements (To be completed within 1 year of employment)


Successful completion of an accredited educational program leading to a certificate or associate degree with an emphasis in sleep technology OR successful completion of a sleep technology program associated with a state licensed and/or nationally accredited educational facility or equivalent experience and documented proficiency for all competencies required of a sleep technician preferred AND Certification by a nationally recognized certification board and holds either the Registered Sleep Technologist (RST), Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (PRSGT), or Sleep Disorders Specialist (SDS) credential to be completed within one year of employment.


Physical Requirements:


Occasionally (1-33%) - Standing, sitting, change position, reaching, reach across midline, crouching/squatting, stooping, stairs, lifting (0-20 lbs), pushing/pulling (20-50 lbs)


Frequently (34-66%) - Carrying (0-20 lbs)


Continuously (37-100%) - Walking, handling, pinching, must be able to see with protective eyewear, must be able to hear clearly with assistance


Compensation: $29.96 - $41.94/hr, depending on experience.
