About the Role:

As a People Operations and Payroll Manager, you will be responsible for all things people operations and ensuring payroll runs seamlessly while being an active member of the people operations team. You will work closely with the People and Talent team in your day-to-day, as well as, build partnerships with the Finance and Accounting team and other major stakeholders at Outdoorsy. In this role, you are expected to be able to work independently (from wherever you prefer!) while being able to expertly communicate and collaborate with your colleagues. This role will report to the Director of People Operations and Talent Acquisition.

Your work at Outdoorsy:

Payroll Administration

  • You will be responsible for ensuring all things payroll run seamlessly
  • Perform internal controls and maintain compliance with internal policies and external regulatory requirements
  • Work with payroll providers to ensure timely filing of quarterly and annual reports including W2s
  • Produce bi-weekly validation reporting for payroll review and ad hoc analysis to provide insight into payroll expenses
  • Maintains employee confidence and protects payroll operations by keeping information confidential
  • Document all payroll processes and maintain documentation for business continuity

People Operations-Benefits, LOA, and Compliance

  • Review and lead corrections in benefit billings for accuracy and discrepancies with carriers
  • Point of contract for a dispersed global team for benefits and leave of absence questions and administration
  • Manages all government-required compliance reporting such as EEO-1 and ACA
  • Scheduling org-wide meetings and administration of pre-determined employee communications
  • Maintains independent contractor administration including document management
  • Maintains and manages HRIS workflows and approvals
  • Worker’s compensation administration
  • Special projects and ad hoc reporting upon request

What you will bring to the table:

  • 4-6 years of experience in benefits, LOA, and compliance
  • 3+ years of experience in payroll
  • A history of providing a great employee experience
  • Federal and State tax laws knowledge and ability to articulate a process for adherence
  • Knowledge of multi-state final pay and leave laws
  • Experience processing payroll and benefits for both exempt and nonexempt employees
  • Knowledge of government compliance reporting requirements
  • Proven ability to maintain confidentiality and security of sensitive information
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy

The salary range for this role is $70,000 - $85,000 USD.

The expected compensation range for this position is displayed in accordance with potentially applicable laws. The final agreed-upon compensation is based on a number of factors, including but not limited to: individual education, qualifications, prior work experience, and geographic work location. The total annual compensation package may consist of a base salary and bonus dependent upon position.
