WORK OBJECTIVE


**Salary is based on experience and/or qualifications, and is subject to negotiation**

This position is responsible for safeguarding the park areas, facilities, and persons using the parks.  Provides security services in City Parks to residents and visitors alike; maintains an environment where people feel safe and secure.  Provides information about park rules and regulations, including explanations and enforcement of regulatory codes and ordinances relating primarily to park usage.  Supervises a group of workers and oversees the Park Ranger Program. Position typically supervises employees and schedules day?to?day work activities to provide optimum efficiency and productivity. Position requires a complete understanding and wide application of principles, theories, and concepts in assigned function or business area.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS


Bachelor’s degree in related field; supplemented by four or more years’ experience relating to parks and recreation services in a leadership role; or an equivalent combination of education, certification, training, and/or experience. Must have First Aid, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), and Automated External Defibrillator (AED) certifications within (3) three months of hire. Must have a valid Florida driver's license with satisfactory driving record throughout employment.
 
Must have National Incident Management System (NIMS) certification (level to be determined by job classification requirements), or obtain within one year of employment.
 
In addition to meeting the minimum qualifications listed above, an individual must be able to perform each of the established essential functions in order to perform this job successfully.

In order to move on to the next phase of the application screening process, you must attach proof of education. 

Applicants who demonstrate they meet the minimum requirements may be subject to an extensive selection process and screening program, which may include, but not be limited to, evaluation of training and experience; psychological evaluation; polygraph examination; background investigation; medical evaluation; controlled substance screen.
