The City of Delray Beach is a Non-Tobacco Workplace. General work in patrolling and enforcing rules in City parks. Work is performed under general supervision.

 Schedule

Saturday and Sunday: 3:00 PM -11:00 PM


This position requires you to work all City Holidays and Special events Including overnights during Delray Beach Open -Tennis Tournament in February.


Essential Job Duties



The following duties are normal for this position. The omission of specific statements of duties does not exclude them from the classification if the work is similar, related, or a logical assignment for this classification. Other duties may be required and assigned
 
  1. Patrol City parks.
  2. Check pavilions/gazebos scheduled for rentals and again post-event.
  3. Enforce park rules and regulations.
  4. Check parks and restrooms throughout the shift and report damage and/or repairs needed.
  5. Lock park gates after closing time.
  6. This position is for evenings, weekends (Sat-Sun), and all City holidays

FULL PERFORMANCE KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS:
  • Knowledge of City ordinances, Florida State parking statutes.
  • Knowledge of parks and recreation rules and regulations.
  • Ability to write and speak effectively.
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with associates and general public.
  • Ability to demonstrate keen powers of observation and physical ability.
  • Skills in communication and public relations.

 


Minimum Qualifications


 

  • High school graduation or possession of an acceptable equivalency diploma.  
  • Two (2) years recreation or related experience. 
  • Valid Florida Driver's License and clean driving record.
