Gerlach Center Crew Volunteer

 

The Gerlach Center team provides construction and operational support for Nevada Operations across forward-facing properties, including The 360 and The Oasis.  Folks who love a logistical puzzle, constantly shifting priorities, and good, old-fashioned hard work are the perfect fit with Gerlach Center.  Our volunteers are the backbone of our operation, ensuring we have what we need exactly when we need it!  We encourage and welcome new ideas and ways to improve and grow!

Date and time frame of role  

  • During July or August - 2 weeks minimum

 

List must-have talents

  • Enthusiastic about keeping the environment healthy.
  • Understanding of team dynamics and a good attitude.
  • Ability to work safely and with awareness/clear communication in an event production environment.
  • Strong logistical mind and a knack for organization.

 

 

Nice-to-have talents

  • It is helpful if the candidate has previously been to Burning Man or is familiar with its culture.
  • Experience working in remote wilderness or desert environments.

 

List of potential tasks***                                                                                

  • Perform cleaning, organizing, moving, loading, unloading, and other support tasks as assigned.
  • Support the crew's needs with snacks, water, and other items.
  • Taking pictures of native and invasive plant species for documentation.
  • Mooping.
  • Logistics support.
  • Manning our entrance gate and helping redirect lost folks.
