There are three levels to the Medical Responder position, Level One, Two and Three.  If offered a position with the Town of Frisco, the offer will be made based on the interview and relevant experience.  Please review below. 

This part-time, hourly, seasonal position is responsible for the overall safety of Frisco Adventure Park & Frisco Nordic Center guests and staff by: Providing emergency response, maintaining all necessary emergency response equipment, enforcing safety rules and practices, proactively patrolling terrain, carrying out terrain safety, inspection, and maintenance practices.



Responsibilities


General Responsibilities

  • Proactively patrol terrain including Frisco Adventure Park and Nordic Center operations.  This includes but is not limited to Tubing Hill, Ski/Ride Hill, Terrain Park, Nordic Center Trails.
  • Enforce safety practices and operating rules and regulations. Conduct terrain inspections and ensure all logs are completed correctly.
  • Provide exceptional guest service to all Adventure Park and Nordic Center guests by giving appropriate information, directions and conducting all interactions with a smile, eye contact and clear communication.
  • Be knowledgeable in Adventure Park and Nordic Center operations, offerings, programs and events.
  • Provide medical response for on-site winter special events. 
  • Utilize established safety and risk management procedures to deliver guest-friendly safety briefings, and proper lift loading/ unloading procedures.
  • Safely Operate UTV and/or snowmobile at all times.
  • Handle repetitive questions, scenarios and tasks with professionalism, politeness and courtesy.
  • Interact with guests, co-workers, and management in a professional manner at all times. Conduct yourself in a positive, professional manner, and use appropriate language at all times.
  • Inspect Frisco Adventure Park for possible hazards, correct and communicate the changes to management team.
  • Assist setting fencing and signage where appropriate.
  • Provide emergency response to incidents and accidents at the Frisco Adventure Park and Nordic Center.
  • Investigate and document incidents and accidents.
  • Prepare and utilize emergency response equipment. Maintain equipment, an appropriate inventory of supplies, and conduct routine inspections.
  • Carry out regular safety and emergency response drills to ensure skill proficiency.
  • Remain alert and vigilant to provide instructions to guests and anticipate possible problems requiring the immediate stoppage of the lift or Rope Tow. Respond to incidents or emergencies as covered in training manual.
  • Assist with opening and closing duties.
  • Communicate with operations management in a timely and professional manner verbally and in writing to resolve guest issues and ensure safety.  
  • Maintain all personal grooming standards and uniform policies.
  • Work in a team-based environment supporting the Adventure Park, Recreation Department, the Town of Frisco, and the initiatives of the Director and Managers. 
  • Utilize appropriate on-slope communication processes to manage terrain conditions, safety response, and customer service.
  • Assist management with equipment repair and maintenance.
  • Assist in all other aspects of Frisco Adventure Park operations as necessary.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Operations Manager or other managerial staff.

  • Must be currently certified and present a valid up to date CPR for the Professional Rescuer card or currently enrolled in a class to get you those certifications.
  • Must present proof of either of the following – Wilderness First Responder (WFR) certification or Outdoor Emergency Care (OEC)
  • Required: Valid Colorado Driver’s License  
  • Must be currently certified and present a valid up to date CPR for the Professional Rescuer card or currently enrolled in a class to get you those certifications.
  • Must present proof of either of the following - Colorado certified Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) or Colorado certified Advanced Emergency Medical Technician (AEMT)
  • Required: Valid Colorado Driver’s License  
  • Must be currently certified and present a valid up to date CPR for the Professional Rescuer card or currently enrolled in a class to get you those certifications.
  • Must present proof of either of the following –Colorado certified Emergency Medical Technician – Intermediate (EMT-I) or Colorado certified Paramedic

Previous Work Experience:

  • None
  • Preferred: 1 year of guest service
  • Required: 1 to 3 winter season medical response or 1+ full year of medical response service
  • Preferred: 1 winter season ski area operations
  • Preferred: 1 year of guest service
  • Required: 4+ winter season medical response or 2+ full year of medical response service
  • Preferred: 1 year of guest service experience.
