JOB SUMMARY

This position is responsible to assist in planning, organizing, directing, and controlling the manufacturing operations, including production, and maintenance.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTION

1. Assist with directing and managing daily operational activities in production and maintenance to maximize throughput, improve service levels, and control operating expenses while manufacturing all products to customer expectations.

2. Assist with leading strategic initiatives to improve scalability, agility, and efficiency

3. Assist with quality improvements by researching best practices and identifying new/needed skills, processes, or methods.

4. Maintenance of metrics (e.g., SQDC, SQDCM, QDIP, KPI) and incentive programs designed to minimize costs and enhance efficiency.

5.Assist with effective planning and layout of workflow, equipment, and assembly procedures.

1. Maintain a safe and orderly work environment.

2. Adhere to and uphold all Company policies and procedures.

3. Follow all procedures as they pertain to this position.

4. Performs other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY/POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK

This job has supervisory responsibilities for non-exempt supervisory staff. This is a full-time position; days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8 hours per day. Regular onsite attendance is expected and required. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.


Requirements

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE (R) = Required (P) = Preferred (Equivalent combinations will be considered)

(R) Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, operations, or related field. Professional certification and/or advanced degree (e.g.,MBA) preferred.

(R) 5+ years of management experience in several aspects of manufacturing operations including proven supervisory and leadership experience. Strong track record of building and maintaining teams.

(P) Knowledge of strategic planning execution.

(R) Proficiency with Microsoft Office program skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).

(R) Ability to use a computer/tablet/keyboard.

(R) Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and technical documentation.

(R) Operational Excellence mentality with diverse and profound hands-on Continuous Improvement methodology experience (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma, Total Quality Management (TQM), etc.)

(P) Knowledge of bicycle and cycling components and styles including rims, wheels, hubs, spokes, nipples, and bike.

(P) Familiarity with new product development, technology transfer and composite materials, specifically carbon fiber.

(P) Lean manufacturing experience and application of tools and methodologies as well as lean implementation experience in a production, warehousing, and/or distribution environment.

(P) Outdoor industry experience.

  • Skill in examining and re-engineering operations and procedures. Experience in formulating policy and developing and implementing new strategies and procedures.
  • Possess excellent project management skills including an ability to plan, prioritize and manage multiple projects successfully and complete projects per agreed upon timelines.
  • Ability to participate on cross-functional teams.Β 
  • Strong problem solving skills and ability to teach and mentor others in these techniques.

PHYSICAL / VISUAL REQUIREMENT

  • Must be able to work in both an office and loud manufacturing environment as needed, including exposure to loud noises, dust, and machinery.
  • Regularly required to talk and hear.
  • Ability to visually inspect equipment.
  • Requires sitting for long periods of time, standing, walking, climbing, bending, grasping, pulling, pushing, stooping, and stretching are generally required to perform the functions of this position.
  • Must be able to safely lift tools and assemblies weighing up to 40 lbs.
  • Ability to travel by car and/or air ~10-20% of the time to conduct product field tests.
