The Role:


KAYAK is seeking a highly-motivated Manager of Commercial Partnerships on our Flights team who will be helping our commercial activities in North America, building and maintaining business relationships with our existing flight partners. The ideal candidate has a strong partnership mentality with the ability to prioritize business objectives while balancing customer/partner needs. Candidates must be self-starters and able to thrive in an agile, fast-paced, and data-driven environment. An understanding of consumer behavior, strong analytical skills, and the ability to effectively communicate and influence KAYAK’s internal partners across engineering, design, and business teams will be necessary for success. This position will report to the North America Director of Flights and would be based in Cambridge, Massachusetts, or Stamford, Connecticut. Occasional client travel is expected.


In this role, you will: 



  • Build, negotiate, and maintain business relationships with flight partners

  • Have a passion for user-centric digital products, identifying and filling content gaps versus competitors

  • Enhance existing relationships in terms of revenue generation and form new partnerships to benefit KAYAK’s product and users.

  • Analyze and monitor the performance of the content on KAYAK and partnerships with third parties.

  • Develop strong relationships and work cross-functionally with the KAYAK commercial, product, and engineering teams.

  • Measure product performance using business and user metrics, establish relevant reports.

  • Monitor the competitive landscape of partners’ content and develop strategies to provide KAYAK with the best content for our users.

  • 4 years experience in travel industry or related industry

  • OTA / Agency / Distribution / Airline industry experience is a plus

  • Excellent negotiator and target driven

  • Highly proficient in Excel, PowerPoint

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and presentation experience

  • Meticulous, strong analytical and problem-solving skills required

  • Ability to think creatively to investigate issues and provide solutions

  • Ability to manage complex, nuanced relationships

  • Ability to manage projects of varying size and scope simultaneously while prioritizing appropriately

  • Ability to develop new insights and work cross-functionally with team members to see projects through to completion

  • Self-starter and ability to work independently

  • Ability to effectively collaborate closely with both internal technical teams and senior members of the KAYAK commercial team

  • Good sense of humor and loves working in an unstructured, fast-paced environment

  • BA/BS degree required

There are a variety of factors that go into determining a salary range, including but not limited to external market benchmark data, geographic location, and years of experience sought/required. The range for this United States located role is $90,000 - $110,000
