We have an immediate opening for a Land Manager whose role is critical for supporting the farms' efforts in finding progressive ways to farm using both traditional and sustainable methods. In this role, you will oversee crops, hay, and soil health. The Land Manager will assist in implementing agricultural practices that promote biodiversity, environmental stewardship, and thoughtful land use. 

Responsibilities & Duties: 
  • Biodiversity: Assist in implementing wildlife-friendly farming practices, such as buffer zones and pollinator friendly plantings.  
  • Crop yields: Support integrated pest management efforts by monitoring pest populations and implementing control measures.  
  • Soil conservation: Assist with soil conservation activities including planting, mowing, field disking, crop spraying, cover cropping, erosion control, and soil health assessments. 
  • Community engagement: Participate in educational programs and outreach events, at times, to promote sustainable agriculture.  
  • Collaborative work and support: Collaborate with the farm team to achieve overall sustainability goals and objectives. 

Requirements:
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; additional coursework in agriculture, environmental science, or related field preferred. 
  • Experience: Willingness to learn and work in an agricultural setting is essential with a basic knowledge of farming practices and a passion for sustainable agriculture and wildlife conservation. 
  • Knowledge of agricultural practices, including hay, crop production, timbering, soil management, and pest control.  
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate with diverse stakeholders.  
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.  
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and techniques in sustainable agriculture.  
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft office applications.
