The Facility Project Manager plays a critical role in Yellowstone Forever’s operations, the Director of Facilities and Sustainability and other staff to plan, budget for, execute, contract, and manage infrastructure projects of all sizes in and around Yellowstone National Park (YNP). This position has dual core responsibilities: they are responsible for planning and managing YF’s facility infrastructure projects as well as acting as the onsite owner’s representative for YF in National Park Service (NPS)/Yellowstone Forever’s cooperative projects in Yellowstone National Park.
Duties include trades work, all aspects of project planning and management, contract development and management, project scheduling, and all other aspects of construction projects through completion. The Facility Project Manager collaborates closely with other YF departments and staff to plan and fulfill facility projects; excellent communication, teamwork, and interdepartmental collaboration are key to the success of this position. Proven success with NPS process management, compliance, and cooperative cross-organizational teamwork is a must.
Primary Responsibilities:
Donor funded mod housing project
Manage onsite presence with NPS Project Lead to ensure appropriate oversite and coverage at all mod housing locations during the donor funded project.
On site quality assurance/quality control during site work and construction.
Conflict resolution with contractors, subs, NPS, state and local representatives, and the public.
Represent the best interest of YF as the owners and builders in all (contracting, construction, commissioning, mitigation, legal, etc.) negotiations and interactions.
Represent the best interest of the National Park Foundation (NPF) and the donor in all interactions.
Manage communications with contractors and providers as necessary for YF; help manage communications with contractors and providers for NPS.
Manage good communication and relationship with NPS administration and engineering staff.
Coordinate jobsite with contractors to provide public, employee, and contractor and resource protection and safety.
Resource protection at job sites, yards, and all project impact areas (housing, rv sites, storage, etc.).
Manage/mitigate wildlife interactions and protection.
Provide documentation/photo archive of all utilities and u.g. work before burial/backfill; provide complete photo documentation for Mammoth site and any other nondisturbed sites.
In coordination with the Director of Facilities and Sustainability, act as Internal YF staff communication liaison.
Oversee external communications between CMO/NPS and NPS Facilities.
Acts as primary contact for all law enforcement and civil liability concerns.
Manage and coordinate all changes to contracting and project implementation needs with NPS Project Lead.
Project manager facilities and sustainability
Plan, contract/execute (if externally accomplished) and/or undertake/execute (if internally accomplished) infrastructure projects of all sizes, types, and trades.
Work with other Facilities and Sustainability staff to plan and successfully complete the annual maintenance project plan and YF’s capital projects plan.
Act as project lead on all assigned projects.
Provide interdepartmental communications to best facilitate successful operational and project plans.
Work with Facilities and Sustainability to identify and undertake sustainability projects that help reduce energy consumption, solid waste, active reuse, and other SUS initiatives as are pertinent to YF’s operations.
Work with Philanthropy staff to support YF and NPS sustainability initiatives through grant awareness, application, solicitation, award, and fulfillment.
Communicate goals and objectives of YF’s sustainability plan and initiatives internally to staff always, and with YF communications team externally to other stakeholders.
Work with YF staff generally, and Human Resources specifically, to improve staff housing as it pertains to potential purchasing and capital improvements in locations where it is deemed appropriate.
Regularly work with Facilities and Sustainability Director and NPS Education/Interp to improve education campus needs, plan improvements/expansions, and help support growth and operations inside and outside of the park.
Work closely with Fleet and Campus operations staff to improve campus facilities and operations; and vehicle purchases, maintenance, and support.
Provide support to Facilities and Sustainability Director for both the annual operating budget and capital projects budget.
Provide life safety and OSHA oversite at all YF owned facilities, help budget for improvements and changes where needed.
Basic Qualifications:
10 years of successful project planning in civil/site engineering/landscape architect
Excellent plan/blueprint/technical construction and utility project understanding
Hands on trades skills
Proven experience with project contracting on federal lands
Proven experience with partner organizations and multi-partnered projects
Proven experience with managing multimillion dollar construction projects
Proven experience comanaging federal/private projects

Compensation:
This is a full-time, salary-exempt position, which will be based in Gardiner, MT. Travel between the offices and throughout the park may be . Salary is based upon experience.
