Role description:

Arcadis Environmental Solutions is seeking an Environmental Professional (Scientist, Engineer or Biologist) to join our team in Vancouver, BC with ability to travel, as required.

Role accountabilities:

Please note that these include but are not limited to,

  • Fieldwork, including groundwater sampling and installation of groundwater monitoring wells, soil characterization and sampling, soil vapor/indoor air sampling and remediation monitoring
  • Stage 2 Preliminary Site Investigations, Detailed Site Investigations, Confirmation of Remediation
  • Site inspections, Phase 1 Site Assessments, and compliance audit support
  • Subcontractor oversight including drillers, utility locators, etc

Additional duties may include handling day to day tasks such as:

  • Data management
  • Writing and preparation of reports, work plans, letters, and memorandum
  • Preparing cost estimates
  • Conducting project-related research (historical data, regulations, etc.)
  • Preparing periodic status/program reports

 

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Biology, Chemistry, Environmental Science, Engineering, Geology, or related field.

• 3 years or more of related environmental work experience

• Valid drivers license and access to a vehicle for field work

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Good communication, interpersonal and writing skills
  • Effective time management skills
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • A commitment to Health and Safety excellence
  • Willingness to work independently in a field setting for extend periods of time, with some work taking place in remote areas

Other experience/knowledge that may also be of interest:

  • An appropriate professional designation in Engineering (P.Eng), Geoscience (P.Geo.), Biology (RPBio), Chemistry (P.Chem.), Agrology (P.Ag.) or similar or are on track to obtain one is considered as an added value
  • Environmental and construction monitoring
