WHAT MAKES YOU A FIT: 

The Technical Part:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Science, Biology, Archaeology, Geology, or a similar field. 
  • Hybrid support (remotely and onsite). 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Bilingual (English & Spanish)
  • Experience in:
    • Analysis of Existing Conditions 
    • Permits or access coordination
    • Data Analysis
    • Risk Assessment

AS A PIECE OF FITS, YOU WILL: (The day-to-day on the job)​​​​​​

  • Permits or access coordination 
  • Analysis of Existing Conditions 
  • Background Research and Baseline Conditions: Conduct an overall 
    baseline assessment of the identified area, including demographic, economic, 
    environmental, infrastructure, and housing information. 
  • Risk and Vulnerability Assessment: Collect and compile existing risk 
    and vulnerability data for the identified area. 
  • Site History Review: Gather historical data about the site to identify 
    potential sources of contamination.
  • Initial Site Inspection: Conduct a visual inspection to identify signs of 
    contamination. 
  • Gap Analysis: Identify and develop a comprehensive list of datasets, 
    information and/or studies that may be required to fully assess and analyze the 
    identified area, but which are not represented in the repository of existing plans 
    and datasets. 
  • Collect necessary data Identify and implement a strategy to collect 
    necessary data or information, or to conduct necessary studies. 
  • Soil Sampling: Collect soil samples from various depths and locations. 
  • Laboratory Analysis (FULL RCRA): Analyze samples for contaminants such as heavy metals, pesticides, hydrocarbons, and other pollutants. 
  • Contamination Concentration: contaminants in the soil. 
  • Exposure Pathways: Identify how humans, animals, and plants might 
    be exposed to the contaminants. 
  • Health Risk Evaluation: Assess the potential health risks based on 
    exposure levels. 
  • Remediation Options: Evaluate different methods for cleaning up the 
    contaminated soil, such as bioremediation, soil washing, or excavation.
