Farnsworth Group is seeking an Environmental Scientist in our St. Louis, MO office.  In this role, you will have the opportunity to work with experienced environmental professionals, licensed engineers, architects, surveyors and GIS/CAD technicians.  Qualified candidates will have the opportunity to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic team environment. 

 

Job Activities:


  • Providing environmental support for various energy and utilities projects.

  • Performing field investigations to delineate and map wetlands, perform environmental compliance inspections, describe habitat, and report environmental conditions to design engineers

  • Researching and completing environmental permitting at the federal, state, and local levels

  • Composition of a variety of regulatory documents including Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasure (SPCC) Plans, Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPP), and Best Management Practice (BMP) Plans

  • Cultivating strong client relationships

  • Coordination of work with project teams, technical staff, and subcontractors


Specific Requirements include:


  • BS (MS preferred) in Environmental Science, Environmental Planning, Natural Resources, or related discipline

  • 0-5 years of related environmental experience - field experience a plus

  • Experience collecting GPS data and creating maps in ArcGIS Pro

  • Familiarity with federal and state environmental regulations (Clean Water Act, Endangered Species Act, and the National Historic Preservation Act, etc.) Strong team player in a multi-disciplinary environment that can manage and contribute to several projects simultaneously

  • Drone Pilot license a plus

  • Strong oral and written communication skills, including interpersonal, facilitation, and presentation capabilities

  • Computer proficiency with MS Office – Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

  • Must be willing to travel for fieldwork on short notice

  • Must have a valid driver’s license
