Position Summary
Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS) is seeking a Director, Total Rewards to provide leadership in the development, implementation, and measurement of total reward systems to value employees worldwide, competitively position the organization, and advance talent and retention strategies. Position oversees efficient implementation and long-term effectiveness with delivery of global policies, procedures, and practices, monitoring and evaluation methods and metrics, and training and technical assistance. Director, Total Rewards will drive best practices, innovation and compliance as well as collaborate globally to enhance total rewards practices and results to make a real impact on a global scale. Role serves as an advisor to ready and advance HR data insights.
Essential Job Functions- In collaboration with critical stakeholders and leaders, design and operationalize a Total Rewards strategy to address and align with institutional strategies, competitively position the organization, and advance talent strategies. Monitor and evaluate and deliver regular efficiency and effectiveness reporting with recommended actions.
- Direct and manage identification and development of best practice compensation elements and methods including job classification, labor market analysis and salary structures, and reward & recognition approaches to optimize individual, team, and organizational workforce performance around the globe. Identify and develop responses to be accountable, agile, and innovative and in alignment with strategic objectives.
- Facilitate review and delivery of employee benefits standards, procedures, and systems for meeting statutory requirements and competitively positioning WCS around the globe. Ensure all programs and plans are in compliance with national and local labor regulations and donor requirements.
- Lead and contribute to the development and delivery of competitive and cost-effective US employee benefits strategies including the analysis, implementation and communication of health, welfare, and retirement programs for a diverse group of employees including those covered by collective bargaining units and at multiple locations. This includes plan design, open enrollment, employees’ access, and regulatory compliance.
- Direct and oversee global mobility programs including international allowances, relocation, and other elements for international or global assignments which are cost effective, efficient, and competitively position WCS.
- Lead and direct the assigned Total Rewards team to optimize the performance and contribution of each to the team and WCS for effective delivery, innovation, and results. Build knowledge, expertise, and capacity leveraging internal and external resources and assuring timely, effective technical assistance and counsel.
- Implement collaborative actions with HR teams to facilitate development and evaluation of total rewards methods at the local, national, and global levels. Internal Qualification RequirementsQUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree and 10 years of progressive total rewards experience or equivalent education and experience. Master’s degree preferred.
Demonstrated success in delivering or supporting global or national solutions in multiple locations aligned with organizational objectives and measurements required.
Strong technical knowledge in several functional areas including job classification, compensation, salary structures, employee benefits, international allowances, reward & recognition, global mobility, HRIS or HRMS reporting and analysis, workforce planning, or capacity-building required.
Strong collaborator with effective interpersonal and analytical skills who can work seamlessly across countries, cultures, and organizational units required.
Demonstrated ability to work, manage, and meet completing deadlines in a fast-paced environment and on deadline; aptitude for problem solving and decision making needed.
Demonstrated sound judgment and discretion, including while handling confidential information.
English fluency required. Proficiency in second language preferred.
CCP, CEBS, GRP, ACCP, or other total rewards professional certification preferred.
