About the role
* To prospect and sell group business for the hotel in accordance with the objectives established in the Marketing Plan.
* To ensure that sales persons' quotas are met/exceeded.
* To ensure that sales activities/group bookings are focused to yield maximum revenue per room occupied.
What you will do
The ability to assume responsibility for the Marketing Department in the absence of the Director of Marketing. The ability to direct sales activities of the hotel to achieve budgeted goals. The ability to assist the Director of Marketing in establishing and directing the development of annual sales goals; ensures they are fully understood and implemented in the hotel. The ability to direct the reporting and apprising of results against planned objectives; coordinates sales staff activities; takes appropriate action to maximize sales and affect need periods. The ability to control date, availability, and rate on guest rooms and function space. The ability to support Sales Managers and Catering Sales Managers by participating in solving problems with other departments as required related to business booked in the hotel. i.e. problems of guest room function space conflicts, salvaging of accounts which have threaten cancellation. The ability to perform all supervisory functions to effectively and efficiently manage the personnel assigned.
- The ability to identify and control work relationships, areas of accountability and performance of the personnel assigned.
- The ability to determine, in conjunction with the Director of Marketing, the standards of performance as a basis to review progress of personnel assigned.
- The ability to recommend salary adjustments, transfers, promotions and dismissals.
- The ability to ensure proper training of assigned personnel.
- The ability to foster a cooperative and harmonious working climate conductive to maximum employee morale and productivity.
- The ability to develop individuals for future advancement.
Conduct coaching/mentoring One on Ones with team members. Oversee the daily operation of the Sales Managers and Coordinators to ensure a fluid sales operation. Oversee the daily operation of the Catering Sales Managers. Forecast the Group segment and Catering contribution on a weekly basis. Provide back up support for DOM when they are absent. Conduct the annual reviews for the team.

• Full Time role with some work in the evenings and on weekends. Travel is required about 15% of the time
