Location: This position can be based remote from the following states: Colorado, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Texas, Tennessee or Mississippi.
What you will be doing:
Osprey’s Copywriter position is part of the Marketing Department’s Creative Team and works in conjunction with the Product, Marketing and Sales Teams to create strategic communication that is aligned with Osprey’s image, vision, guidelines and expectations for multi-channel application. Core responsibilities include writing, editing and proofing creative materials, including, print, digital, web and video creative. This role executes Osprey’s voice and ensures brand consistency across all platforms.
- Interpret creative briefs
- Develop messaging for print/web campaigns
- Help create sell-in collateral (e.g. marketing plan, workbooks, product guides, sell sheets, etc.)
- Write website content (e.g., product pages, landing pages, homepage, stories, etc.)
- Create copy for packaging and hangtags
- Develop technical documents and instructions (e.g., owner’s manuals, customer service web support, etc.)
- Research and understand target audiences
- Present copy concepts and final deliverables to marketing team
Skills needed to be successful in this role:
- Maintain brand tone and voice across channels
- Evoke emotions and targeted behavior through action-oriented writing
- Receive and act on constructive criticism
- Work collaboratively with creative team
- Meet deadlines independently or with a team
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree; relevant experience in advertising, communication or related discipline may be substituted on a year-for-year basis
- Experience as a copywriter, content writer or similar role (in-house copywriting experience preferred)
- Excellent writing and editing skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to manage several projects at once and work within tight deadlines
- Portfolio of published samples
- Ability to follow AP writing standards
- Basic knowledge of SEO
- Authorized to work in the United States
Preferred Qualifications:
- Interest in commerce, popular outdoor culture and new adventure trends and techniques
- Knowledge of the Osprey brand through event attendance and outdoor activity participation
In Colorado and New York City, the standard base pay range for this role is $60,259 - $117,280 annually. This base pay range is specific to Colorado and New York City and may not be applicable to other locations. Actual salaries will vary based on several factors, including but not limited to location, experience, skill level, and performance. The range listed is just one component of the total compensation package for employees.
