About the Role
T9 is looking for a full-time copywriter to join our team. Reporting into our Vice President of Creative, this position will be responsible for crafting feature and benefit product copy, as well as, editorial content for omni-channel execution, through a variety of projects ranging from email, web and social to campaign conceptualization and paid organic.
The ideal candidate will have a mastery of both short- and long-form copywriting, with the ability to take complex concepts and craft them into compelling brand stories. They will also have a knack for writing punchy, irreverent (with an unabashed feminist POV) and aspirational copy that falls in line with the T9 brand voice.
This position is based out of our Emeryville, CA office: working onsite Monday - Thursday with the ability to work remotely on Fridays.
Key responsibilities include:
- Owning the product copywriting process, working cross-functionally with merch and product development teams to craft and deliver accurate, on-time web and omni-channel product copy, product-forward headlines, key brand messages, website and email copy
- Writing product names and descriptions; product page copy, SEO content, and various other, that is clear, concise, and aligns with the overarching tonality of the brand.
- Understanding the challenge of bridging brand story with technical copy needs (SEO).
- Participating in brainstorming sessions with the Creative team on copy ideas, ideation, seasonal messaging, content stories, etc.
- Maintaining a quality driven proofing process, to ensure all copy published is compelling, accurate and on-brand.

You also have:
- Bachelor’s Degree in English, Creative Writing, Journalism, or similar professional experience
- Mastery of grammar and the English language - a true wordsmith.
- 2+ years of experience writing, experience writing for a lifestyle brand in the apparel, a plus but not required
- Detail oriented with the ability to manage multiple projects, pivot when priorities change and always bring a positive attitude.
- Experience writing for and owning projects with a variety of stakeholders.
- Clearly communicate creative and copy rationale to cross-functional teams and stakeholders; be open to their feedback
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
