JOB SUMMARY


The Camp Maintainer at Reindeer Station provides essential information to all user groups, safely operates equipment such as chainsaws and snowmobiles, maintaining detailed equipment records, and reports all necessary needs and repairs to the Manager of On-the-Land Programs. The Camp Maintainer will also be responsible for camp upkeep, including wood and water hauling, clearing walkways, and heating cabins. This role will ensure facilities are clean and orderly in as to maintain a safe environment.




QUALIFICATIONS


Applicants must be/have:



  • Grade 10 education.

  • Have or be able to obtain Pleasure Craft Operators Card (boat license), Wilderness First Aid CPR + AED certification.

  • Demonstrated ability to maintain and safely operate small engines and equipment on site at Reindeer Station (chainsaws, brush cutters, tow-behind bush hog, diesel generator, ATV, and snowmobiles).

  • Ability to work remotely for periods of time up to 20 days away from community.

  • Follow work plans and effectively communicate and discuss operations and maintenance concerns if they arise.

  • Log all equipment maintenance and complete a daily journal entry.

  • Ability to work with various client types/user groups renting Reindeer Station.


 


Preference may be given to candidates with the following:



  • Class 5 Drivers License is an asset.

  • Small engines certificate an asset.
