Camp Counselor

Camp Counselors are responsible for running the day-to-day programing of our weekly sessions of Camp Wild Rivers. They oversee a group of campers to provide them with an enjoyable experience while learning lifeguarding skills at a very basic level.

• Maintain a positive and welcoming environment for all campers 

• Facilitating all planned skills sessions and activities for groups of campers assigned to counselor 

• Overseeing all aspects of camp operations including food service, maintenance, registration, and accounting 

• Maintaining safety standards and enforcing rules to ensure the well-being of campers 

• Monitoring activities at all times to ensure that they are safe and organized

• Setting up and maintaining equipment used for Junior Guard Camp 

• Must have experience working with children 

• Must be patient and reliable. 

• Must have strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. 

• Must have a StarGuard lifeguarding certification or the ability to obtain. 

• While performing duties of this job, the employee is required to stand and walk for long periods of time and may regularly move up to twenty pounds. 

• Applicants over the age of 18 must be able to pass a standard background check
