The Camp Counselor will be responsible for oversight of large and small groups of kids through providing daily activities. Camp Counselors will lead campers through games, art projects, and field trips. The Camp counselor will report to and work along with the Athletic Program Supervisor in our Parks and Recreation Department.
Program age-appropriate activities, keeping participants active and engaged.
Supervise participants at all times to ensure the safety of campers.
Enforces rules and regulations for the safety and welfare of participants and staff.
Provide input for planning the activities.
Actively participates in all activities and provides supervision on trips away from the site.
Reports disciplinary problems, accidents, and illness to the Supervisor.
Inspects daily equipment, play areas, and athletic facilities and reports any unsafe conditions to Supervisor.
Attends all staff training prior to start if camp.
Assists with routine housekeeping duties.
Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
Ability to provide a memorable and positive camp experience by incorporating and leading: passive and active games, art projects, theatrical activities, field trips, food experiences and much more.
Skillful in creating a safe and fun summer camp environment for youth campers.
This position requires the ability to move around and be able to lift at least 30lbs. Work requires the ability to physically preform the basic life operations functions of fingering, grasping, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions.
