Camp Counselor

Join our team of dynamic City of Fishers Parks staff for school breaks by working as one of our Camp Counselors. The purpose of this position is to provide an exciting and safe environment for youth and preschool campers by leading games, songs, crafts and other activities. Each counselor will work with other counselors to provide weekly camp activities. Camps will be held during the following school breaks and summer:

Winter Break: December 30th - January 3rd
Spring Break: April 7th - April 11th
Opportunity to stay on for Summer Camp if interested: June 2nd - August 1st

• Monitor the well being of campers at all times while maintaining a safe and positive learning environment
• Daily camp preparation and clean up
• Assisting campers with activities, games, and crafts
• Friendly and outgoing interaction with campers and general public
• Participation in games and activities with campers
• Program delivery
• Assisting at special events as needed

• Must be 15 years of age of older;
• Experience and ability to work well with children required;
• Mature judgment and ability to safely supervise children required;
• Must have current CPR and first aid certification or ability to obtain;
• Ability to work well as part of a team or independently;
• Reliable transportation to and from program sites;
• Must pass a complete criminal history background check as a part of our hiring process;
• Camp hours during school breaks will be from 8am - 5pm.

• First Aid/CPR Certification will be offered as a part of the training process.
