About the role:
The R&D Tech/Engineer Assistant role will be part of our Brands and Products Team. Our Brands and Product team consists of passionate powersports professionals dedicated to prototyping, testing, and developing innovative, proprietary parts and apparel for our in-house label, Tusk. This department is full of creativity and endless opportunities!
In this role, you will have the opportunity to assist the product development team with proprietary product lines. This will include taking a product from inception, to building prototypes, testing, refining, designing manufacturing procedures and fixtures, creating hardware lists, making instructions, and designing packaging. To help you succeed, we've created a dynamic shop environment for design and creation to take place.
As an R&D Tech/Engineer Assistant, you will collaborate and work with internal designers, as well as external consultants and suppliers to create, prototype, and refine parts, accessories, and designs. To be a successful candidate, preference in the powersports/outdoor industry is desired. Manufacturing and general shop skills are preferred. You will have strong communication, problem solving, organizational, and creative skills. Product development, design, or manufacturing experience is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
Position performance will require the regular physical ability to walk and function in elevation changes by the means of self-propulsion, to include steps, ladders, and varied walking and working surfaces. Ability to negotiate warehouse work areas in a safe manner and behavior. Vision abilities specific to the position will include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus. Performing in this role will require the use of hands to use and handle tools, objects, materials, and controls. Performance requires the frequent ability to sit, talk, hear, stand, climb, balance, stoop kneel, crouch, or crawl. Employee will need to be able to read, write, and understand basics of the English language. Employee may have to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and up to 45 pounds assisted or if capable.
