The University of Rio Grande/Rio Grande Community College is seeking applicants for a full-time, tenure track faculty position (at rank of Assistant Professor) in Biology/Environmental Science for August 2025.
 
Nestled in the beautiful rolling hills of Southeastern Ohio, Rio's 190-acre campus offers a small town feel and is a center for learning, innovation, and technology in the region. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to contribute to the University’s Biology, Environmental Science, and Wildlife Conservation programs through teaching, student advising, and the development of student-driven research and practicum activities.
 
We are broadly seeking candidates with expertise in the areas of ecology or environmental science. A background in botany and/or genetics is considered a plus. Anticipated courses taught may include, but are not limited to: Principles of Biology, Biology I & II, Environmental Science, Ecology, Botany, Genetics, Environmental Practicum. The successful candidate will also have the opportunity to develop other courses in their field of expertise.
 
Position Qualifications:
 
A terminal degree of Ph.D. in a related discipline is preferred, but candidates possessing a Master’s degree with experience will also be considered. Previous college-level teaching experience and/or other equivalent experience is preferred.
