What will I be doing?
Position Statement: As Assistant Director of Sales at Hampton Inn Boston Seaport, you will support the Director of Sales by managing key group segments, mentoring team members, and contributing to business strategies aimed at achieving the hotel's revenue and growth targets. You will also play a leadership role in developing commercial strategies and business processes to drive performance across all hotel revenue streams, including Rooms, Catering, and Events.
Position Summary:
- Manage and own a key vertical market for the hotel and contribute leadership support to the overall commercial strategies for the sales team.
- Support the performance improvement of the sales team by connecting strategy with business processes to drive revenue growth.
- Apply strong sales skills to create customer value, differentiate Hilton from the competition, and build long-term relationships with clients.
- Demonstrate mastery of the prospecting process, identifying new customers and developing call strategies to secure new business.
- Negotiate contracts and provide solutions that protect the financial goals of the hotel while meeting customer needs.
Strategy:
- Contribute to the hotel’s Annual Multi-Year Strategic Intentions and Commercial Strategy in partnership with the hotel’s commercial leadership team and regional sales, revenue, and marketing support.
- Actively engage with Hilton Worldwide Sales, Convention Bureau, and intermediaries to retain existing customers and secure new business for the hotel.
- Develop and execute plans for outside sales calls, industry tradeshows, and customer events.
- Develop and communicate monthly, quarterly, and annual business plans for a designated market.
- Maintain an up-to-date pipeline of business opportunities that align with short and long-term business objectives.
- Represent the hotel in sales interactions, including creating business proposals and executing contracts.
- Conduct site inspections for prospective and existing customers through expert storytelling, tailored to individual client needs.
- Stay informed about the competitive marketplace and industry trends within the hotel's geographic market.
Leadership:
- Lead segments of daily and weekly business review and sales strategy meetings.
- Collaborate with the Director of Sales and Marketing (DOSM) and Director of Sales (DOS) on commercial strategy plans, socializing and adapting plans as needed.
- Contribute to the development of sales strategies for site visits and customer engagements.
- Consistently conform to Hilton brand standards and corporate identity across all communication tools.
- Lead hotel and enterprise-level sales initiatives, such as America’s Week of Engagement and Sales Accelerators.
- Support sales team members during absences or when working remotely.
- Provide feedback for performance reviews of sales managers and support staff.
- Foster a culture aligned with Hilton’s DEI (Diversity, Equity, Inclusion) and ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) enterprise goals. #LI-AT3
