Role Overview:

Urban projects are often complex, with many stakeholders and partners involved over extended periods of time. As a result, we are looking for an intermediate Project Manager who is always thinking 2-3 steps ahead and looking to take on highly visible, often-challenging projects. Being responsive is critical in this role, as is effectively working with large teams and ensuring all the pieces come together at the right time.



Responsibilities :


  • - Project manage urban municipal projects including streetscaping, road construction, utilities construction, and asset management.

  • - Coordinate drafters and junior designers to prepare detailed design drawings, specifications and contract documents. Manage construction inspection of projects.

  • - Work with landscape architects and planners to create conceptual designs.

  • - Review project financials and ensure budgets are met.

  • - Prepare effective proposals and liaise with clients and seek out opportunities to leverage our inter-disciplinary teams to provide value-added services.

  • - Participate in industry and professional groups such as CEA, BILD, etc.




Requirements:

  • - Registration in good standing as a Professional Engineer (P. Eng.) or a Professional Technologist (P.Tech) in Alberta

  • - Excellent communication skills and a client-focused mindset are a must

  • - Understanding of City of Calgary approval processes, standards and business units is needed, as is a proven track record of coordinating large inter-disciplinary urban projects for the City of Calgary

  • - Understanding of accessible design principles is a benefit.

  • - 7+ years of experience in delivering urban projects including streetscape redevelopment and corridor projects.
