The Role

The role of Analyst, Data Governance will play an important role in ensuring data quality, integrity, and availability that supports data standards that are used across the organization to drive business decisions across various initiatives. The Analyst will specialize in identifying new data quality concerns, monitoring current data quality checks to ensure data integrity and availability necessary to meeting our business needs. This role requires a high degree of collaboration with our key business and IT partners working in tandem with Business Intelligence and other Data & Analytics teams to support the growth of data quality and integrity that are vital to the success of the organization.

This position demands a problem solver who is well-organized, takes initiative and is extremely detail-oriented. The individual will be responsible for implementing and maintaining data standards; defining and monitoring data quality metrics; perform data validation, reconciliation, and troubleshooting of data issues; building business glossaries/data dictionaries to support data governance; and act as a key point of contact for business units and IT teams for data governance and quality issues.  This position requires the ability to perform data queries, working with large data sets, and analyze the results along with being knowledgeable on reporting data, reporting data structure, data feeds (inbound/outbound), intermediate/staging tables, various data sources, and reporting tools.
 

What you'll do

  • Data Quality and Compliance – Ensure accuracy, completeness, integrity and accessibility of data.  Participate in identification, validation, resolution and reconciliation of data issues across the organization.  Set prioritization of production issues / maintenance backlog impacting data for quality and availability. Ensuring KPls and SLA's are being met. Execute key controls across multiple systems and processes.  
  • Hands On Data Analysis - Utilize various methods to extract data from data environments and source systems to perform ad-hoc analysis, requests and data reconciliations. Analyze data, identify discrepancies, document and communicate findings.   Build dashboards and reports for continuous monitoring.
  • Documentation – build and maintain data dictionaries, lineage and workflows across financial, data and commercial platforms.
  • Technology Project and Program Support – participate in user acceptance testing and validation of data changes within Loyalty, Revenue Management, Business Intelligence & Analytics, Property and Call Center platforms, and other systems that integrate with Wyndham’s Data Platform.
  • Data Governance Advocacy – Collaborate and partner with Business, Data, and IT functions to ensure proper implementation and adherence to data governance policies, standards, and procedures.  Identify opportunities to establish new frameworks and policies, ensuring data integrity and compliance.  Advance organizational compliance and engagement through subject matter expertise, effective communication and cross functional training.

Required Qualifications/Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Economics, Business Analytics, Information System, Business, and other closely related degrees preferred.
  • 1-2 years of experience in a related field/position.
  • Experience with at least one programming language or query language, i.e., SQL 
  • Data analytics experience with an acute attention to detail.
  • Highly proficient in data analytic tools. 
  • Experience with data modeling tools a plus.
  • Experience with Collibra or other data quality or anomaly detection tools is a plus.
  • Experience in the hotel industry or travel industry a plus.
