The ideal candidate will be well-organized and comfortable dealing with all types of financial data. This individual will be responsible for overseeing accounts payable and receivable, processing payroll, and conducting other tasks related to finance. They should be extremely detail and process-oriented and, ideally, will thrive in an environment where they are able to contribute to positive change and development. This is an in-house position located in Bozeman, Montana.
The Staff Accountant role will directly report to the CFO. This position is expected to have a strong sense of ownership, the ability to identify process improvement opportunities, and have strong knowledge of accounting principles. The Staff Accountant is a liaison between our lodges and in-house sales staff.
Required Skills/Experience/Attributes:
- Bachelorβs degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (strongly preferred)
- 3+ years of experience in an accounting or finance role
- 3+ years of QuickBooks Desktop experience preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite and QuickBooks Desktop
- Ability to streamline processes and build on existing SOPs
- Proven ability to handle a high-volume workload at a high level of efficiency
- Strong organizational and analytical skills
- A high level of integrity is needed as this role deals with confidential information
- Has a positive attitude and an unrivaled ability to work with peers, staff and management collaboratively
- Has strong verbal and written communication skills
- Is committed to fostering and maintaining a service culture
Responsibilities:
- Track expenses, budget, taxes, cash flow, receipts and other company financial dealings
- Support monthly close process in QuickBooks
- Code invoices, set up new accounts, reconcile accounts
- Reconcile bank and credit card accounts monthly
- Reconcile cash accounts, payroll, customer accounts, other financial accounts
- Prepare quarterly and annual payroll tax filings
- Daily processing of general invoices, receivables, and payables
- Support customers by monitoring the billing hotline
- Perform ad hoc requests at the request of management
- Comfortable having conversations about account balances with vendors and customers
- Ensure timely processing of payroll (bi-weekly)
- Support CFO by managing needed data entry, financial analysis, etc. as-needed
- Spot errors and suggest ways to improve efficiency and spending
- Review and recommend modifications to accounting systems and procedures

Base Salary:
- $50,000/yr β $65,000/yr D.O.E. + opportunity for bonus
