The major function of this position is:
To sell and promote our high-quality, innovative polarized sun wear and goggles throughout Colorado, New Mexico and the eastern half of Wyoming, with a focus on Denver and the mountain regions of Colorado, within the action sports and optical channel of trade.
This person will travel throughout the territory to grow and increase business by calling on accounts to carry out Zeal’s marketing plans and policies. The position is a Direct Sales Rep opening.

The principal responsibilities and duties of this position are:
  • Manage all aspects of the assigned territory by developing and implementing sales strategies that promote the Sell-in and Sell-through of Zeal product within each account in the optical and outdoor markets; this includes traveling and visiting all accounts within the territory on a regular basis. 
  • Maintain and increase the sales of existing Zeal Accounts with superior support through planning, sales analysis, training, trunk shows and local marketing.
  • Enhance sales through influencing and motivating through effective training, communication and presentations skills.
  • Prospect and open accounts that present the greatest potential for current and long-term sales success with Zeal.
  • Develop key relationships with accounts in the outdoor, sunglass-specialty and optical markets.
  • Create brand awareness throughout assigned territory by managing local athletes, creating and hosting training events, and by being present at local retail and industry events. 
  • Effectively utilize literature and promotional material supplied by the Company.
  • Maintain and collect the necessary territory records and information required by manager.
  • Run and analyze reports on account sales and product sell through, utilize data to better service accounts. 
  • Provide consistent training to all accounts on Zeal products and brand efforts.
  • Continually represent Zeal in the best professional manner by returning account phone calls/emails, keeping appointments, and keeping an upbeat/enthusiastic demeanor.
Other Functions:  
  • Collect and supply information to management that can provide better service and penetration into our market.
  • Represent the company when requested at professional meetings or industry functions.
  • Record and document business expenses on a regular basis required for company payment. Perform all other work-related tasks as requested or required. 
Desired qualifications:
As a guide, indicated below is the preferred education and experience for this position:
  • University degree in business field with minimum of 3 – 5 years successful field sales experience.
  • Experience and relationships in sunglass or optical industry, outdoor/action sport or snow industry preferred. 
In lieu of education, the following equivalent experience is preferred:
  • High school graduate with 1 to 2 years college with a minimum of 5+ year’s field sales experience. 
  • Experience in sunglass or optical industry. 
Skills preferred for this position:
  • Ability to understand and stay within set territory budgets
  • Enthusiastic with excellent sales and service skills
  • Ambition to help and teach accounts how to sell through Zeal products
  • A consistent track record of exceeding goals and meeting deadlines
  • Exceptional communication: verbal and written skills
  • Strong computer skills. (Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Zoom)
  • Strong presentation and analytical skills
  • Ability to wear multiple hats and speak to snow accounts and optical accounts in the same day
  • Be able to learn and adapt to new order taking mediums and reporting platforms
  • Self-motivated, ability to work independently
  • Established relationships with Optical, Outdoor/Snow, and Sun Specialty accounts
Special Physical Requirements:
  • Road Warrior! 75% travel minimum.
  • Overnight travel expected - a minimum of 3-5 nights a month
  • Ability to drive
  • Ability to utilize a PC
  • Ability to lift and carry 30 pounds
  • Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time
  • Able to communicate in a variety of business settings
Compensation:
The starting base salary range for this position is $57K - $63K
In additional to base pay this position is offered a generous commission program plus a rich benefits package
