Northern Tier High Adventure Base of Ely, MN, and Atikokan ON is looking to hire Seasonal OA Trail Crew staff. This seasonal outdoor adventure guide position starts at $1675/month and we provide all staff with food and housing. As a OA trail crew staff member, you will lead 12 day canoe treks for scouts into large areas of wilderness while doing conservation work for the USFS. the first 6 days of each trip is spent working on trail in the boundary water canoes area wilderness. We're a national high adventure base for the Boy Scouts of America, we specialize in wilderness canoe treks in the Boundary Waters (Minnesota) and Canada as well as winter camping treks. In the summer, Scouts from Northern Tier's three wilderness canoe bases explore millions of acres of pristine lakes, meandering rivers, dense forests, and wetlands in Northern Minnesota, Northwest Ontario, and Northeast Manitoba. Our guiding values are the scout oath and law as well as providing life-changing experiences tailored specifically for scout units.

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A SUMMER WILDERNESS CANOE GUIDE / CAMP COUNSELOR
As an OA Trail Crew staffr, you are the foundation of our program. You work directly with the scouts to ensure that they have the best and safest experience possible. Your days working with scouts, aged 14 - 18, are filled with adventure. You camp, canoe,, teach trail building skills, and act as a role model as you lead 2 weeklong wilderness canoe treks. When you are not on trail working with scouts work days are spent supporting base camp operations through a variety of custodial chores or administrative tasks. This is one summer that you will never forget and a job that will be the wilderness adventure of a lifetime!
