POSITION SUMMARY:
The Family Enrichment Instructor is responsible for creating and delivering programs that strengthen family relationships, promote positive interactions, and support the YMCA’s mission of fostering youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. This position provides safe, engaging, and inclusive opportunities for families to learn, connect, and grow together.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Program Delivery:
- Plan and lead family enrichment programs, workshops, and activities that promote family bonding, communication, and shared learning experiences.
- Ensure all programs are age-appropriate, culturally inclusive, and mission-driven.
2. Member & Family Engagement:
- Build positive, nurturing relationships with participants to encourage continued involvement.
- Serve as a role model by demonstrating the Y’s core values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility.
- Provide excellent customer service, ensuring participants feel welcome and valued.
3. Program Safety & Quality:
- Maintain a safe environment by following YMCA policies and procedures.
- Ensure equipment and materials are used properly and safely.
- Report incidents, accidents, and concerns promptly to the supervisor.
4. Administrative Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate attendance, program records, and evaluations.
- Assist in promoting programs through communication with members, flyers, and community outreach as directed.
- Attend required meetings and trainings.
5. Collaboration & Teamwork:
- Work collaboratively with other YMCA departments and staff to coordinate family events and community initiatives.
- Contribute ideas to enhance family programming and engagement opportunities.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum age 18.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; some college or coursework in education, family studies, recreation, or related field preferred.
- Experience working with families, children, or in group facilitation preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to plan, organize, and lead engaging activities for all ages.
- Must be able to work flexible hours, including some evenings or weekends.
- CPR/First Aid certification (or ability to obtain within 60 days of hire).
- Must complete all required YMCA trainings, including Child Abuse Prevention and appropriate safety certifications.

WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
- Must be able to stand for extended periods, bend, and move around activity areas.
- Program activities may take place indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
