Thermacell is home to 125+ full-time employees across three U.S. hubs — Bedford, MA (Corporate Headquarters), Buford, GA (Manufacturing & Distribution), and Hampton, FL (Science & Research Center) — and is expanding its footprint in the UK & Europe.

ROLE PURPOSE:

Thermacell is seeking a Chemistry Technician to support formula development, and analytical and quality testing. This position will report directly to the Science Manager, and serve as a part of the Science and Research Team in Hampton, FL.

STATUS: Non-Exempt WORKING HOURS: Typically, between 8-5pm M-F (open to some flexibility) WORK LOCATION: Science and Research Center 6393 Navarre Ave, Hampton, FL 32044 Please note: This position is not eligible for work authorization sponsorship by the company now or in the future. Candidate must be authorized to work for any employer in the United States on a full time basis.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

In this role, you'll get to:

Independently execute accurate and timely quality testing in support of the manufacturing team and raising potential issues in an expedient manner

• Follow established SOPs to support technical aspects of Thermacell’s chemistry program
• Conduct Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) and non-GLP laboratory studies assessing product performance, quality, safety, and chemical composition
• Maintain an orderly and safe laboratory and workspace
• Track, organize, and replenish laboratory supplies by conducting routine inventory assessments and working with vendors to fulfill purchasing needs
• Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of equipment
• Assist in the development of new formulas that meet performance targets
• Assist in other duties as assigned to support Science Department and global business activities

COMPENSATION:

Compensation for this position will include a competitive base salary and an Annual Target Bonus opportunity. Details provided separately.:

Additionally, a company shutdown period is offered for one week between Christmas and New Year’s Day where the majority of business operations pause, and employees are encouraged to rest and recover together. Critical functions may require limited coverage to ensure business continuity.

Requirements:

SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

Bachelor’s degree in chemistry or related field Formulation and/or analytical chemistry experience; professional experience and/or experience with pesticide or bioactive products preferred

Experience following laboratory procedures and protocols; GLP experience preferred:

Direct expertise in the use of a range of analytical chemistry instrumentation, specifically GCMS, GC-FID, UPLC and/or HPLC Familiarity with quality control concepts Proven ability to plan, organize, problem solve, and coordinate multiple tasks Proven ability to document accurate data in official laboratory records and summarize findings in technical reports

Ability to stand for extended periods of time (4 or more hours) and conduct repetitive laboratory tasks Ability to perform basic math calculations Proficiency with wet chemistry techniques, e.g. using pipets and preparing solutions Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 and related software
