POSITION SUMMARY: This position will serve as the Camp Nurse for the Silver Bay Day Camp, The primary responsibilities of this position will include, but not be limited to providing basic medical services for day camp attendees, supervising the health and cleanliness standards for the Day Camp and working in a team environment with counselors and leaders.
*Note: This Mon-Fri position runs from June 22 - August 21. Applicants must be available for the full camp session.
ESSENTAIL FUNCTIONS:
- Tracks and manages medication for day camp attendees
- Provides basic medical treatment to day camp attendees and staff.
Contacts parents concerning sickness or other medical issues as needed
- Maintain the first aid area in a clean, sanitary, and well stocked manner.
- Maintain accurate records of injuries, illnesses, medications and treatments administered.
- Contributes to the overall well-being of all people on campus.
Works closely with day camp staff in a team environment
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned and deemed appropriate by the Program Director.
Requirements:
Registered nurse (RN) or licensed practical nurse (LPN) certification required. First aid, CPR and AED certification preferred. Silver bay can provide certification if necessary.
Experience in pediatric illness and injury care:
Ability to multi-task Flexible attitude with strong skills working in a team Ability to work in a fast-paced environment Friendly, empathetic attitude
Experience and passion for caring for children and young adults:
Must be able to pass a background test. This Mon-Fri position runs from June 22 - August 21. Applicants must be available for the full camp session. On campus housing and Meals can provided by request at a weekly rate. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: This position requires the ability to sit at a desk and working on a computer for prolonged periods of time. Other physical requirements include the ability to walk, bend, reach or stand for prolonged periods of time lift up to 50 pounds.
