    Job Description

    Seeking a leader to manage the operations for the Aerospace Manufacturing group in cooperation with support functions to ensure company objectives are met.

    What You’ll Be Doing:

    • Lead manufacturing operations for the aerospace division in partnership with corporate teams to achieve company objectives and profitability. The ideal candidate is a proactive, goal-oriented leader who drives production performance with a strong sense of urgency—while maintaining an unwavering commitment to safety, quality, and cost efficiency. This role develops and implements policies and processes that strengthen competitiveness and directs activities to ensure products are delivered on schedule within quality and cost targets, while fostering a culture of respect and accountability.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

    Safety

    • Champion a culture of safety by ensuring compliance.
    • Oversee production floor safety programs to eliminate hazards and reduce risks.
    • Ensure employees are trained and consistently follow all safety protocols.
    • Drive accountability for incident reporting, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.

    Quality

    • Ensure products meet customer requirements standards.
    • Collaborate with Quality and Engineering teams to resolve issues and prevent recurrence.
    • Maintain quality compliance through audits, corrective actions, and improvements.
    • Support new product launches by validating processes and ensuring customer specs.
    • Delivery
    • Direct work to meet production schedules and delivery commitments.
    • Monitor and manage capacity planning, manpower utilization, and resource allocation.
    • Work with Production Planning to ensure production capacity matches customer demand.
    • Ensure effective communication of progress, problems, and solutions across all levels.

    Cost

    • Prepare and maintain budgeted expenses; monitor performance against financial targets.
    • Reduce costs through process optimization and waste elimination.
    • Oversee maintenance programs to minimize downtime and costs.

    Environment

    • Supervise employees in compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
    • Handle interviewing, hiring, training, performance reviews, and discipline.
    • Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
    • Provide regular feedback, coaching, and development opportunities for team members.
    • Build workforce versatility through cross-training and maintaining three-deep backups for critical roles.

    Supervisory Responsibilities: Directly supervises employees. Carries out responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws, which include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

    • Schedule: This position will primarily work eight or more hours per day, five days per week based on business needs and will primarily be day-time hours but may occasionally work or travel nights and weekends for events and special projects.

    EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

    • High School Diploma with 7 years’ related manufacturing experience.
    • Bachelor’s degree Preferred
    • At least 7 years’ related manufacturing experience with 3 years of leadership experience.
    • Aerospace experience preferred

    SKILLS & COMPETENCIES THAT ENABLE YOU TO SUCCEED:

    • Highly proficient in Office software: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook and ability to learn new software tools.
    • Hands-on experience with ERP or MRP. Global Shop Solutions is preferred.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Good organizational and time management skills
    • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines. Prioritizes appropriately.
    • Ability to collaborate with coworkers, customers and suppliers. Build rapport and develop alliances; adjusts communication style to meet the needs at various levels within organization.
    • Understands when to be flexible and work outside the system in a manner that promotes business growth while limiting confusion and risk.
    • Provides clear direction and sufficient resources while removing or reducing obstacles to team success.
    • Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
    • Ability to develop a strong understanding of production processes and capabilities, how data is captured and used internally to make decisions.
    • Reliable and diligent with the ability to work efficiently while maintaining high standards of quality.

    OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

    • Ability to travel as needed. You must possess valid driver’s license (insurable with good driving record).
    • If remote, you must have access to reliable internet and ability to travel as needed
    • Standard work hours with occasional evening/weekend availability as assigned
