Position Summary:
The Dental Schedule and Referral Coordinator is responsible for managing the dental schedule across all Elevated Community Health sites and for initiating, coordinating, and tracking dental patient referrals both internally and externally. This role directly supports Elevated Community Health's pillars of Access, Stewardship, and Quality by ensuring patients can obtain timely dental care, utilizing resources efficiently, and maintaining accurate, organized referral and scheduling processes. The Coordinator helps remove barriers to care, supports responsible use of clinical and administrative systems, and contributes to a high-quality patient experience through reliable communication, attention to detail, and consistent follow-through.

Essential Functions:
- Ensures that the Dentrix schedule is accurate regarding patient demographics, appointment type, provider, insurance eligibility, and payor source, billing, payments, and payment plans.
Utilizes Dentrix Continuing Care and Unscheduled Treatment plans to ensure that all available appointments are full. Is responsible for the scheduling at SBHC sites, including Screening, Fluoride, and Sealants weeks.
- Responsible for the initiation and tracking of the Dental patient referrals externally and internally. Referrals for all follow-up-related referral reports. Maintains the status of initiated, pending, and closed referrals.
- Build relationships with patients, insurance companies, hospitals, physician practices, ancillary departments, and internal visiting/volunteering specialists.
Additional Requirements:
Grants are a vital part of ECH revenues and directly or indirectly support all positions. This role may have responsibilities that are closely associated with grant deliverables. Grants and grant responsibilities may change over time. Complete all required training as designated by HR and the position supervisor, including the Dental PSR Training Program.
Oversight of projects and tasks as assigned by the Dental Service Line Director and/or the COO.

Willingness to travel and work at other ECH locations as determined by the supervisor.
- Comply with all applicable Credentialing and Privileging requirements in a timely manner.

- Responsible for working at the front desk as a PSR whenever determined by the supervisor, as well as during times that the schools are on break, covering staff PTO, etc.

Education/Experience:
Must-Haves to be successful:
High competency in digital systems, including Microsoft Office Suite. Strong attention to detail, financial acumen, organizational skills, and effective time management.
Experience with business office functions, including cash management and billing.:
Previous non-profit, indigent, and/or volunteer experience is desirable.
Nice to Have:
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent preferred. Minimum of one (1) year of experience in a medical or dental–related field preferred. Knowledge of medical and dental terminology is desirable.

The work environment is in a healthcare setting, can be fast-paced, and involves communication with patients and medical personnel. This role is highly clerical.
