Program Leadership:
- Organize, lead, and promote interest in a wide variety of recreational activities
- Assess the needs and interests of individuals and groups and plan activities accordingly.
Direct and support activities such as swimming lessons, arts and crafts, sports instruction, fitness, and outdoor programming.
- Develop and lead activities designed for the age and abilities of the campers.
Be a role model to campers and staff in attitude and behavior.
Safety:
- Enforce rules and regulations of recreational facilities to ensure safety.
- Monitor areas for hazards and debris, reporting issues to supervisor as needed.
- Maintain awareness of camper's special needs to include food allergies, medications, and emergency contacts.
- Ensure campers are always supervised.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Assist in planning special events, providing information about programs to the public.
- Assist in cleaning and maintaining camp areas.
- Participate in staff meetings.
- Contribute to the team effort by performing other related duties as assigned.
Now Hiring for Summer 2026 Camp Paseo staff! Summer camp will run from May 26, 2026 - August 7, 2026.
Qualifications:
Minimum age requirement = 16 years old or older before hire date No prior experience is necessary to be considered for Camp Counselor role, but returning City of Bellaire Camp Paseo staff may be rehired in a Camp Group Lead role at the discretion of camp staff.
