Overview
Sugarloaf is currently seeking internal applicants from our current ski patrol team who have strong leadership skills and a commitment to safety for our open Hill Chief position. The Ski Patrol Hill Chief is a frontline supervisory position that is embedded in daily on-hill operations. The Hill Chief is responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient execution of established patrol procedures. This role reports to the Assistant Patrol Director and/or the Patrol Director and plays a critical role in coordinating the patrol team and maintaining safety standards across the mountain.
This opening is available only to current Ski Patrol team members.
Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Supervise and direct patrol team during assigned shifts
- Oversee daily trail openings and closures
- Ensure proper hazard marking, padding, fencing, signage
- Maintain readiness of patrol equipment, including toboggans, first aid supplies, and lift evacuation gear
Delegate and monitor completion of daily operations tasks Adapt procedures and solve on-hill issues in real time
- Maintain a visible patrol presence and uphold safety standards

Additional Details:
this is a highly hands-on role requiring significant on-hill presence this role will have limited administrative duties; primary focus is operational execution this is an hourly, full-time seasonal position
