If you like working with kids, our organization is looking to add energetic, conscientious, and resourceful Camp Counselors to our team. The Cherryvale Day Camp Counselors are the foundation and the heart of our summer day camp program which serves children ages 4-12. Camp would not be possible without our amazing staff.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities Supervise a group of campers; acting as guide, mentor, and counselor with a lead counselor Enthusiastically participate in and implement all camp programs and activities. Embody a positive, authentic attitude and a strong desire to work with and serve as a role model for children.
- Maintain a safe and healthy environment for campers, abiding by all camp rules and policies. Assist any camper with empathy and patience.
Interface with the leadership team (Assistant Camp Director, Program Coordinator, Camp Director, Camper Care Specialists) as needed. Working Environment ? This role is in-person, seasonal, and full time during the camp season, May 22 - August 7, 2026. ? Camp is operated outdoors unless weather prohibits it. Working conditions include spending full days under the sun in all temperatures.
? We have a full week of in person training before the camp season begins.
Requirements:
QUALIFICATIONS:
Must be at least 18 years old Responsible, reliable, and punctual No longer enrolled in High School (graduation not required)
Experience or willingness to work with young children (ages 4 – 12):
*Lead Counselors must be able to provide documentation of 460 hours working with school-aged children by a previous employer - NOT REQUIRED TO APPLY Physical Requirements
While performing regular duties, you will be required to sit, stand, reach, walk, or kneel, and to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

While this role is primarily seasonal, from May - August, there is opportunity for a limited number of staff to extend beyond seasonal capacity.
Compensation:
This is a non-exempt hourly position with a salary range of $17.00-18.00/hour commensurate with experience. This is a 40-hour a week position May-August with the possibility of extension through the year. The benefits for seasonal and temporary employees currently include a 403b retirement plan with generous company match, and sick leave.
The anticipated closing of this position is May 18, 2026.
