Tennis Camp Counselor

Summary/objective

• Responsible for leading and supervising elementary and middle school children who participate in the tennis camp program. Must be able to commit to the summer camp season (June 1- August 7).

Requirements:

• Provide competent tennis instruction for all groups and levels of players

Supervise and interact with children to promote educationally and developmentally-stimulating programs and activities Supervise and interact with children during classroom time, outdoor play, and transportation time

• Follow state licensing standards for child care
• Communicate with children using a style that builds relationships and promotes teamwork
• Assist with junior development of competitive players and 10 and under tennis
• Assist the Director with all club events, tournaments and USTA matches
• Maintain the highest standard of cleanliness throughout the facility while providing outstanding customer service

Promote the safety and security of all participants at all times

• Maintain a notable visual presence during work shifts
• Communicate program policies and expectations members and/or guests to ensure a high level of safety and service at all times

Promote the safety and security of all children at all times

• Communicate program policies and expectations to students and/or parents to ensure a high level of safety and service at all times

Supervise children by maintaining appropriate student-to-counselor ratios Physical demands Must be able to stand, move, walk, and bend for the duration of a shift Must be able to physically respond in a quick manner in the event of an emergency Must be able to fully participate in all indoor and outdoor activities

Must be able to work professionally and calmly in an environment which may have heightened noise and stress Must be able to work in warm, humid, rainy or windy outdoor conditions Must have ability and willingness to work varied shifts including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays Required competencies, education, and experience

Must be able to commit to work the summer camp season (June - August) Prior working experience and knowledge of state licensing standards highly desired Prior experience with youth programming and/or summer camp programs highly desired Must be at least 16 years of age Company Expectations Read, sign, and abide by the policies included in the Team Member Handbook

Park in team member-designated areas Club cleanliness is an all-team responsibility; assist whenever necessary in any area of the club to keep the club neat and clean

• Assist with Service Days
• Assist with acac programs, special events, or activities outside your department

Promptly return messages Exhibit a positive attitude at all times

• Deliver five-star service to members and guests with friendliness, direct eye contact, and a pleasant demeanor at all times
